Throughout my high school years, I have learned that being a woman of heart means showing compassion, empathy, and care for others in both big and small ways. One way I have practiced this is through being a Peer Helper since 2025. In this role, I try to support other students by listening, offering encouragement, and helping create a positive environment at school. Being part of the Saint Joseph High School Volleyball Team in 2022 also taught me the importance of supporting and uplifting teammates. Through teamwork and shared goals, I learned how important it is to encourage others and build strong relationships within a community.

Volunteering with the Missionaries of Charity since 2023 has also helped me grow as a woman of heart. This experience has allowed me to serve those in need and understand the importance of compassion toward the “dear neighbor.” It reminded me that even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. During my CNA clinicals in 2025, I further developed this sense of compassion by caring for patients and learning how to be attentive to their physical and emotional needs. These experiences helped me see the value of patience, empathy, and service in caring for others.

Being an older sibling and babysitting has also played a big role in shaping my understanding of compassion and responsibility. These experiences have taught me patience, understanding, and the importance of being someone others can rely on. Whether helping my siblings, caring for children, or supporting others in my community, I try to lead with kindness and empathy. Through these experiences, I have learned that being a woman of heart means consistently choosing to care for and uplift those around me.
